Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a hands-on therapy with a holistic view of the person, aiming to restore balance and promote the proper functioning of the body.

Through gentle mobilisation and manipulation techniques, it acts on the musculoskeletal, visceral and cranial systems to relieve pain, improve mobility and contribute to overall well-being.

It is currently considered a complementary manual therapy discipline, recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO), which emphasises the relationship between the body's structure, its function, and the body's natural self-regulating capacity.

Principles of Osteopathy:

  • The body functions as a unit.
  • Structure and function are closely related.
  • The body has the capacity for self-regulation and recovery.
  • The movement and balance of tissues are essential for health.

These principles have been partially reinterpreted.

What are the benefits of osteopathy?

The treatment of any of the pathologies described previously will provide us with:

  • Balance between the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.
  • Improved stability and body awareness.
  • Reduction in medication intake.
  • Improvement in quality of life.
  • Prevention and treatment of injuries.

Osteopathy can provide us with benefits both in the short term and, above all, in the long term, with direct results in our bodies.
